Michael Kraus.

I believe the best photography comes from curiosity, respect, and a genuine desire to connect. That’s what drives me every time I plan a shoot.

I’m drawn to conceptual portraits — images that do more than just show what someone looks like. I want to capture who they are, what they do, and express it all in a single, powerful image. Sometimes that means creating a set or incorporating props; other times, it’s about finding that perfect, unguarded moment in just the right light. Either way, I’m always looking to make something honest, memorable, and emotionally resonant.

My style is clean, graphic, and often cinematic — a mix of classic studio technique and a documentary sensibility. I’ve spent years photographing everything from food to products to street life, but portraits are where I feel most alive. They’re a collaboration — a conversation between me, the subject, and the story we’re telling together.

What keeps me inspired is that urge to connect — to make images that feel authentic, relevant, and full of life.
